Citra Indah Mall

This project comprises of 2 phase, the phase 1 is the Master plan and phase 2 is the Architecture Design of the Mall. In the Master Plan stage we conduct studies to explore the site and study the best arrangement for Mall development we the client need to know how they should divide the site in to Phase 1 and Phase 2. After the study we came out with 3 proposals based on the possibilities we found during design exploration which all them have different pro & contras.

Design Approach

In this project we proposed three alternative design approach before started developing the masterplan and building design:

1. OPTION 1
The development will be started from roundabout as where the entrance located nearby so that the future development will be located further in to Citra Indah City.

2. OPTION 2
The option 2 has similar approach with option 1, but the difference is in the spatial planning, here is more continuous and indoor space unlike option 1 where it’s designed the other way.

3. OPTION 3
The option 3 has different approach, as the mall development from “inside” as it tries to make it closer to the resident. The spatial layout of the all is more compact as we try to save the land for future.

Design Proceess

We finished the Master Plan stage with the conclusion to proceed with option 3 where the development will not be started from the front but rather from inside of the Citra Indah City. The other advantage that we found during coordination with the client that there’s possibility to do the integration with the shop-house area which is next to the development. The main form of the massing was derived from responding the site context as shown on the diagram, and we apply it consistently through out the building.
