The Jakarta Architecture Festival 2025 adopts the theme “Reimagining Space,” inviting architects, urban planners, and the public to rethink overlooked areas of Jakarta. The theme challenges traditional views of underused urban spaces—seeing them not as voids, but as opportunities for meaningful transformation.
In a fast-growing city like Jakarta, every alley, empty lot, and forgotten building holds potential to drive social, environmental, and cultural progress. “Reimagining Space” encourages innovative strategies—from adaptive reuse and sustainable design to community-driven initiatives—to turn neglected areas into vibrant, functional, and inclusive spaces.
The goal is to inspire collective reflection on how urban spaces can better serve society, improving connectivity, quality of life, and community well-being.
